Pasay City, October 16, 2025 — The Division Science and Technology Fair 2025 successfully took place at Pasay City South High School – Piccio Garden, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City. With the theme “Harnessing the Future: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation,” the event showcased the scientific talent, creativity, and innovation of students across the division.
The opening program featured the Philippine National Anthem via an audio-visual presentation, followed by a prayer, the singing of Bagong Pilipinas, and the Pasay Hymn, setting a patriotic and purposeful tone for the celebration of science and innovation.
School Principal Dr. Felina P. Patagan warmly welcomed participants, coaches, and guests, highlighting the importance of scientific inquiry, creativity, and innovation in education. She encouraged students to explore science as a pathway to nation-building and sustainable development.
Mr. Quinn Norman O. Arreza, JD, OIC–Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, and OIC–Chief Education Program Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the crucial role of science and technology in building a progressive society. He inspired participants to develop curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration as essential skills for a rapidly advancing world.
Dr. Maripaz T. Mendoza, Education Program Supervisor for Science, acknowledged the dedication of student participants, coaches, and school science coordinators, commending their enthusiasm and contributions to the success of the fair. Ms. Ma. Elma V. Amongol, Head Teacher VI for Science, introduced the board of judges for the various contest events, ensuring transparency and fairness in the evaluation process.
Keynote speakers Hon. Congressman Antonino “Tony” Calixto and Former Education Committee Councilor Joey Calixto inspired participants to pursue excellence and creativity in the field of science and technology, emphasizing the transformative power of scientific innovation in national development.
Adding vibrancy to the program, the Pasay City South High School Science Teachers Dance Troupe performed an entertaining intermission number, energizing the audience. Ms. Editha F. Alimbuyugen, Subject Group Head for STEM, then announced the contest rooms and guidelines, ensuring a smooth and organized flow of activities. The formal opening of the fair was led by Mr. Arreza, symbolically launching the competitions and exhibitions.

The fair featured a variety of competitions and exhibitions, including the Sci-Quiz, Science Investigatory Projects, Science Tricks, Interactive Booths, and the VEX Robotics Competition and Exhibition.
