President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School successfully conducted the Open High School Program (OHSP) and Alternative Learning System (ALS) Orientation for School Year 2026-2027 on June 13, 2026, bringing together learners, parents, and stakeholders in a meaningful gathering aimed at strengthening awareness and understanding of the school’s flexible and inclusive learning programs.

The orientation served as an important platform for informing participants about the objectives, policies, and support mechanisms available under the OHSP and ALS. It also reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing accessible, relevant, and quality education that addresses the diverse needs and circumstances of learners.

The program formally opened with the Welcome Remarks of Dr. Sonny J. Adriano, School Principal III, who emphasized the significance of ensuring that every learner is given the opportunity to pursue and complete their education regardless of personal circumstances. He highlighted the school’s dedication to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive and achieve their full potential.

An inspirational message was delivered by Dr. Ana Marie A. Afuang, Education Program Supervisor (EPS) for Values Education and OHSP, who encouraged learners to embrace lifelong learning and maximize the opportunities provided by the Open High School Program and Alternative Learning System. Her message underscored the transformative power of education in improving lives and shaping a brighter future.

To help learners understand their responsibilities as members of the school community, Ms. Rosalin Sr. Camacho, Teacher VI and Guidance Coordinator, discussed the school’s rules and regulations. Her presentation focused on promoting discipline, respect, responsibility, and a positive learning environment conducive to academic success and personal development.

The orientation also featured informative presentations from key program coordinators. Mrs. Jacquelyn M. Estrada, Teacher III and Junior High School ALS Focal Person, Dr. Victor Paulo D. Umali, Master Teacher II and ALS-Senior High School Focal Person, and Mr. Jay-R S. Cachuela, Head Teacher III and OHSP Coordinator, introduced the teaching personnel and learners of both programs. They also provided valuable information regarding program implementation, learner expectations, and the academic support available throughout the school year.

Adding further inspiration to the event, Mr. Joseph Pesebre, SPTA President, addressed the participants and encouraged them to remain committed to their studies. He reminded learners that education is a powerful tool for personal growth and success, urging them to seize the opportunity afforded by OHSP and ALS as pathways toward achieving their dreams and aspirations.

The activity concluded with the Closing Remarks of Mr. Terence V. Reyes, Assistant School Principal II, who motivated learners to stay focused on their educational goals and make the most of the opportunities offered by the programs. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, dedication, and continuous learning in overcoming challenges and attaining success. The program was smoothly facilitated by Ms. Maricel V. Calimlim, who served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Overall, the OHSP and ALS Orientation was successfully conducted, equipping learners and parents with essential information about the programs while fostering a sense of belonging, confidence, and motivation. More importantly, the activity strengthened the partnership between the school, learners, parents, and stakeholders in supporting educational success and lifelong learning.
