In celebration of the 51st Nutrition Month, President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School joined the nationwide campaign led by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) and the Department of Education (DepEd) with this year’s theme:

“Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” with the sub-theme “Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!”

This year’s Nutrition Month campaign aims to highlight that healthy diets should not be viewed as a luxury, but as a necessity and a human right that is unconditionally accessible and available to all Filipino families. It emphasizes that every individual has the right to proper nutrition, regardless of their economic status, and that a healthy diet is essential for promoting well-being and preventing malnutrition. The campaign calls for a collective effort to ensure that nutritious food is within reach for every Filipino household, reinforcing the idea that food and nutrition security is fundamental to human dignity and health.

The Nutrition Month Celebration 2025 aimed to raise awareness on the importance of healthy, affordable, and accessible diets among students and the wider school community. It sought to promote food practices that support proper nutrition not only in school but also at home, encouraging learners and their families to make informed and healthy food choices. The celebration is also aimed at engaging students in meaningful activities that highlight creativity, teamwork, and health consciousness. Furthermore, it intended to strengthen the school’s role as a proactive advocate of nutrition, wellness, and overall student well-being.

A variety of engaging activities were conducted throughout the month to promote advocacy. The event kicked off with a launching activity where the theme and goals of the celebration were presented to the school community. To encourage creativity and advocacy, a Slogan Making Contest, Poster Making Contest, and Healthy Spoken Poetry Competition were conducted, allowing students to express their knowledge and support for healthy lifestyles through visual art and language. A lively Nutri-Dance Contest showcased students’ energy and creativity while promoting physical activity and wellness. A Symposium was also organized, where students and parents attended a health-focused session conducted by a school nurse who emphasized the importance of a balanced and budget-friendly diet. One of the most anticipated events was the Cooking Contest, where selected learners demonstrated their skills in preparing healthy, affordable vegetables dishes using local ingredients. The celebration concluded with a culminating activity, recognizing the winners from each contest and reinforcing the significance of proper nutrition in students’ everyday lives. The entire celebration was marked by high levels of participation, creativity, and enthusiasm from both students, parents and teachers making Nutrition Month 2025 a meaningful and successful campaign for health awareness and wellness advocacy.-Maricor M.
