The G12 Senior High School Students who will be graduating this year attended webinar on K-12 Curriculum Exits on May 4, 2021. The said webinar started its preliminaries part like a short prayer led by Ms. Maria Elena T. De Ocampo at exactly 8:00 a.m. via Stream Yard with the technical assistance of Ms. Biverly A. Teñoso. A welcome message was delivered by the Assistant Principal, Roger B. Escarilla. An inspirational message was delivered by the OIC Principal, Dr. Efren E. Canzana. The event was highlighted by the career talk of the following: Ms. Hillary Ann Bornasal of STI Pasay; Mr. John Rod Salles, Guidance Counsellor of Arellano University; Mr. Jerald Ivan Comia, Marketing Officer of Datamex and Mr. Carlos I. Centeno, Admisssion and Promotion Staff of San Juan De Dios Educational Foundation, Inc.
After these parts, discussion on the trends of labor in the NCR was given emphasis by Mr. Ryan Roberto E. De Los Reyes, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, DOLE-NCR. He encouraged all the participants that despite pandemic, you have to find a way to manage yourself. Ms. Filipinas Rosario C. Sampang, OIC-PESO, Supervising Labor and Employment Office, was also one of the speakers who said “ There are three Cs in life: choice, chance, change. You must make a choice to take a chance, or your life will never change.” The last speaker was Ms. Editha O. Felipe, Senior Labor and Employment Assistant. She invited the graduating students to join the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES). “This is a special program created under Republic Act 7323, series of 1999, as amended by Republic Act 9547. It is intended to help poor but deserving students and out-of-school youth (OSY) pursue their education by encouraging their employment during summer and Christmas vacation, through incentives granted to employers allowing them to pay only 60% of their salaries or wages and the 40% through education vouchers.” She said in her presentation during the webinar. The webinar was hosted by Ms. Maricel V. Calimlim, SHS teacher. She ended the program by acknowledging all the participants for bringing the program to reality. ROGER B. ESCARILLA
