Philippine Standard Time:

Everyone is looking forward to April for School Graduation and Recognition. But our world changed because of the worldwide pandemic, Covid 19. Instead of  the barely contained excitement, there’s a pervading sense of sadness as the unfinished business of saying proper goodbyes weighs heavily on us while we continue to mull over the fact that our years of hard work may not be given the traditional recognition. Silently, we mourn the loss of unrealized moments and snatched memories of year-end class get-togethers.

Truly, the virus brought anguish and angst yet we refused to wallow in sadness and self-pity. To some, the lockdown has made us reflect more on what ultimately matters: our humanity as defined by the relationships we forge – not material wealth or fame.  The COVID-19 pandemic has closed thousands of schools across the country and canceled large group gatherings, including graduations and recognitions.

For five years, President Corazon “Cory” C, Aquino High School (PCCCANHS) has continuously been soaring high to greater heights, producing quality students and graduates. But this school year marks the most unforgettable and unique way of our Recognition Rites – the time when all the hard work and efforts of Corazonian   students are acknowledged.

PCCCANHS recognized all the hardworking students for  the school year 2019-2020 with the theme “ Sulong Edukalidad : Pagtataguyod sa Kinabukasan ng Bayan

(Championing the Nation’s Future)” last July 2,2020 at 10:00 in the morning  through  a unique ,first-ever yet memorable Virtual  Recognition Rites.

The Masters of  Ceremony  for this year’s event were Mr. Marion Kenneth Samson and Mrs. Zhyrine  A, Palado , both, from Filipino Department.

The ceremony started by singing the National Anthem followed by a  short Prayer Song  and the singing of Pasay City Hymn.

The program was  opened  by  our energetic and supportive  PSDS/OIC-Principal,  Dr. Efren E. Canzana .

After the opening remarks, the guest speaker ,  Mr. Jewar E. Palogan   was introduced  to deliver the Motivational Speech to all our students. Mr. Palogan  graduated from Philippine Normal University, Manila  in 2016  with a  Bachelors Degree in Values Education. He was a DSWD,CHED,DOLE Scholar (2012-2016) and his poetry  was published in Pamana 2016. He was also the  Motivational Speaker   during the 19th Commencement Recognition Exercise at  Tulay ng Kabataan held on  May 7,2018  . He was then invited  to give the Motivational Speech to ABS-CBN   important program, the  HAPPINESS PROJECT aired last  February 5,2020 . He currently works  as a Senior High School teacher at the  Philippine College of Criminology.

He came from a big poor family ( they were ten siblings) and his parents cannot  send  them to school. At a very your age, he has to work and support himself.  He encourages everyone to aim high, work hard, dream big and believe in themselves. According to Mr. Palogan, only through education that one MUST STRIVE AND NEVER GIVE UP in order to reach one’s dream.

After the guest speaker has delivered his inspirational message, announcement of  Academic Awardees  for SY 2019-2020 followed , starting with Grade 10,  then  Grade 9, Grade 8 and  lastly Grade 7. Division Awardee and Special Awardees were also highlighted during this event.

The program was closed by Dr. Cynthia D. Abella, our Assistant Principal. She reminded everyone to stay safe amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Further, the program ended with a video presentation featuring the PCCCANHS  pride.. their efforts, determination and achievements.

To God be all the glory!
