In line with Division Memorandum No. 1857, s. 2025 on the celebration of Scouting Month, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) of President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School – Pasay City successfully conducted its Investiture Ceremony and 2-Day Indoor Camp on October 4–5, 2025, under the theme “Service, Innovation, and Scouting for All.”
Investiture Ceremony: A Milestone for New Scouts
Held on October 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM on the school grounds, the Investiture Ceremony marked the formal acceptance of new scouts into the Scouting movement. The event welcomed Junior High School students who had completed the necessary training and orientation.
The program began with the singing of the National Anthem and the recitation of the Scout Oath and Law. Assistant Institutional Head Scout Master Terence V. Reyes delivered an inspiring message, urging scouts to embrace discipline, service, leadership, and patriotism as guiding principles.
For many participants, the investiture was more than a formal rite—it was a transformative experience. Scouts expressed feelings of pride, belonging, and purpose, recognizing that scouting is not only about wearing a uniform but also about living a life of service and integrity.
Two-Day Indoor Camp: Building Skills and Camaraderie
Immediately following the Investiture, scouts participated in a 2-Day Indoor BSP Camp, designed to instill values of leadership, teamwork, and community service. The camp was filled with hands-on activities, skill-building workshops, and fellowship.
Highlights of the camp included:
- Campfire Program – Scouts presented skits, songs, and cheers, fostering creativity and camaraderie.
- Hands-On Skills Training – Activities such as knot tying, tent pitching, compass reading, trail signs, and signaling (wigwag and semaphore) equipped scouts with practical survival and leadership skills.
- Values Formation Sessions – Discussions on citizenship, respect for the flag, and the meaning of the Scout Oath and Law deepened the scouts’ understanding of service and responsibility.
- Physical and Team-Building Exercises – Morning drills, fun challenges, and patrol-based activities encouraged teamwork and unity.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony, where outstanding scouts and patrols were recognized for their performance and dedication.
Scouting Spirit Rekindled
The Investiture and Indoor Camp proved to be a successful and enriching experience for all participants. Despite being conducted within an indoor setting, the essence of scouting—learning by doing, building character, and fostering brotherhood—was fully realized.
With renewed enthusiasm and stronger bonds, the scouts of PCCA-NHS are now better prepared to lead, serve, and uphold the values of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. The event not only honed practical skills but also reminded the youth of their shared responsibility to contribute positively to their school, community, and nation.
