As the month of March unfolded, our school embarked on a journey of celebration and empowerment in honor of Women’s Month, with the aim of honoring and empowering women from all walks of life. The event aimed to raise awareness about women’s rights, achievements, and the challenges they continue to face.
The President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School started the kick-off program through a kick-off parade and Zumba which were led by the SPTA. The second part of the said event started with a National Anthem, followed by a prayer, and a Pasay March through an Audio-Visual Presentation. Mr. Roger B. Escarilla, the Assistant School Principal, warmly acknowledged the importance of women’s celebration and women’s right in which he wholeheartedly supported the program. Mrs. Zaina P. Milan, the GAD Focal Person, addressed the Rationale of the event and she also appreciated the presence of teachers who enthusiastically joined the event. Mrs. Grace B. Torres, the School Principal, gladly reiterated her message in which she aimed to empower and inspire both students and staff members to recognize and support gender equality. The AP Grade 7 teacher, Mrs. Corazon B. Quilang, was ecstatic to announce the tasks that the students would be performing. The seminar about Republic Act #11313 known as “SAFE SPACES ACT” was conducted by Mrs. Consuelo A. Eusebio, School Head Teacher III, Mrs. Eusebio, recapitulated the importance of being brave enough to know the different forms of gender-based sexual harassment committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions workplace as well as online spaces. Her eloquent words wove as an inspiration, urging the audience to embrace their potential and stand tall in the face of adversity. Additionally, an open forum was conducted. Some also talked about their own experiences and their positive reactions. Questions were also raised and were all willingly answered by Mrs. Consuelo A. Eusebio. The event also featured a video teaser of the teachers in which they cheerfully executed their assigned tasks. The FEA President, Mrs. Erlinda Aligonero, made a humble speech in her closing remarks, highlighting the significance of recognizing and honoring the achievements of women in society.
The Women’s Month event was more than just a day to honor women; it was an example of the strength of bravery, resiliency, and solidarity. Let us uphold the values of equality and empowerment by advocating for women’s voices and rights in all spheres of our lives.
