PCCCANHS celebrates 2025 National Women's Month
In celebration of National Women's Month, the GAD Committee organized a series of activities to honor and celebrate the women of Pres. Corazon “Cory" C. Aquino National High School last March 24, 2025.
This year's celebration, with the theme "Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas," aimed to empower women from all walks of life and to raise awareness of women's rights, achievements, and contributions, and the hurdles they continue to face.
The kick-off program began with the National Anthem, followed by a prayer and the Pasay March presented through an audio-visual presentation.
Mr. Terrence V. Reyes, Assistant School Principal II, formally opened the program on behalf of the school principal, Mr. Michael C. Artoza, who attended the Palarong Pambansa Closing Ceremony. In his message, Mr. Reyes sincerely emphasized the importance of honoring women and upholding their rights.
Mrs. Marizan T. Tapel, Master Teacher I and SGH-Academics, delivered the rationale of the event. She cited Memorandum Circular No. 2025-01 issued by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), titled "Guide for the 2025 National Women's Month Celebration (NWMC)," which advocates for a society where all women enjoy equal rights, power, and opportunities. In her speech, Mrs. Tapel emphasized that the month-long celebration aims to raise awareness and strengthen advocacy for gender equality, ultimately leading to greater recognition of women's equal rights and contributions.
The announcement of winners and the awarding of certificates for both group and individual categories followed the rationale. Then, the awardees were recognized in the following contests:
• Group Quiz B Lakandula ng Kaalaman Contest (JHS Level)
• Lakandula ng Kaalaman Contest (SHS Level)
• Pagsulat ng Sanaysay (SHS Level)
• Slogan Making Contest
• Poster-Making Contest
Afterward, Rylee Jhael Valeriano from Grade 8-Carnation rendered a heartfelt song as an intermission number.
In recognition of six solo parents, Mrs. Consuelo A. Eusebio, Head Teacher III of the AP Department, highlighted the importance of honoring their sacrifices and presented them with bouquets and special gifts.
Representing solo parents, Mrs. Ma. Victoria S. Roberto, Teacher II from the ESP Department, shared her personal experiences. She encouraged women to remain strong, never lose hope, and persevere in the face of challenges.
Mrs. Erlinda Aligonero underscored the importance of recognizing and honoring women's achievements in society and eventually concluded the celebration.
Bringing together individuals from different backgrounds to promote women's empowerment, resilience, and solidarity, the celebration of Women's Month 2025 was indeed a resounding success.
