2024 NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH
As the month of March unfolded, our school embarked on a journey of celebration and empowerment in honor of Women’s Month, with the aim of honoring and empowering women from all walks of life. The event aimed to raise awareness about women’s rights, achievements, and the challenges they continue to face.
The President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School started the kick-off program through a kick-off parade and Zumba which were led by the SPTA. The second part of the said event started with a National Anthem, followed by a prayer, and a Pasay March through an Audio-Visual Presentation. Mr. Roger B. Escarilla, the Assistant School Principal, warmly acknowledged the importance of women’s celebration and women’s right in which he wholeheartedly supported the program. Mrs. Zaina P. Milan, the GAD Focal Person, addressed the Rationale of the event and she also appreciated the presence of teachers who enthusiastically joined the event. Mrs. Grace B. Torres, the School Principal, gladly reiterated her message in which she aimed to empower and inspire both students and staff members to recognize and support gender equality. The AP Grade 7 teacher, Mrs. Corazon B. Quilang, was ecstatic to announce the tasks that the students would be performing. The seminar about Republic Act #11313 known as “SAFE SPACES ACT” was conducted by Mrs. Consuelo A. Eusebio, School Head Teacher III, Mrs. Eusebio, recapitulated the importance of being brave enough to know the different forms of gender-based sexual harassment committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions workplace as well as online spaces. Her eloquent words wove as an inspiration, urging the audience to embrace their potential and stand tall in the face of adversity. Additionally, an open forum was conducted. Some also talked about their own experiences and their positive reactions. Questions were also raised and were all willingly answered by Mrs. Consuelo A. Eusebio. The event also featured a video teaser of the teachers in which they cheerfully executed their assigned tasks. The FEA President, Mrs. Erlinda Aligonero, made a humble speech in her closing remarks, highlighting the significance of recognizing and honoring the achievements of women in society.
The Women’s Month event was more than just a day to honor women; it was an example of the strength of bravery, resiliency, and solidarity. Let us uphold the values of equality and empowerment by advocating for women’s voices and rights in all spheres of our lives. The Women’s Month Celebration was a remarkable success, uniting people from all walks of life to support women’s empowerment and gender equality.

OF THE GIRL CHILD WEEK 2022-2023
President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino (PCCCANHS) voiced support for the observance of Girl Child Week in 2023, which would take place from March 25 to 31
In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 759, series of 1996, which designates every fourth week of March as the “Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week,” the Girl Child Week aims to increase awareness of and advocate for equal opportunities and protection for all girls in the nation. It is led by the AP,ESP and MAPEH Coordinators, the GAD focal person, and the medical staff.
This year’s National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) theme, “WE for gender equality and inclusive society,” which emphasizes fair treatment and inclusivity for all people regardless of their race, sexual orientation, class, status, and ethnicity, is in line with the theme of Girl Child Week: “Strong Girls, Strong World: Protecting Girls’ Rights and Well-Being in the Face of Adversity.”
The theme of the celebration at PCCCANHS is awareness and protection about Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and Self Defense.
Girl-Child Week and CORAZONIANS: Awareness, Protection and Defense
To provide interventions for our learners, MS. ROSELYN JOYCE A. HOWELL, Nurse II, held a symposium to address what HPV is, various illnesses caused by HPV, and the burden of disease caused by HPV.
The demonstration and instruction of BAZTEKHAN, a self-defense method for surviving a violent fight, was the highlight of the celebration. Our girl children will benefit from this since it will enable them to defend themselves and repel attackers. Sirsan Florencio Rosario led this with the assistance of Mr. Joel P. Torres a black belt, and Mrs. Krista Dominica L. Amad, one of our own MAPEH teachers.
The chosen students from each level and across sections echoed the symposium subjects in the classrooms as a means of disseminating information to other students. Results were anticipated and delivered.
GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION
In consonance with the country’s celebration for Women’s Month, this school conducted activities for the 2023 Celebration of Women’s Month with the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”.
The celebration was initiated by the GAD Focal Person, Mrs. Zaina P. Milan, together with the OIC, School Principal, Mrs. Grace B. Torres, Assistant School Principal, Mr. Roger B. Escarilla, GAD Focal Point System, Teachers, and Student leaders of the school. The celebration aimed to inform and engage women as stakeholders of government programs and services to promote a change in very human of the society specially the women. This celebration is also created and facilitated platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges and implementation of the Magna Carta of Women. It also empowers all the girl students to be agent of change and contribute this change to the school and community.
Among the activities were essay writing contest, poem writing contest, poster making contest, slogan making contest, spoken poetry contest, singing contest, jingle making contest, parade, haranahan and zumba wellness.
As participation to this event Corazonian’s wore purple shirts in all Fridays of March and tarpaulins were also hanged in front of the school
President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School have 50 female teachers and it only resembles that empowered women were not in the four corners of their homes, but they can make change for the betterment of students and the entire community.
