Nutrition Month 2019 Acitivities
July 2019 marks the 45th year of Nutrition Month Celebration. Every private and government agencies support the celebration of Nutrition month in our country.
As our support to the government, last July 1 the President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School started to acquaint the school and community through parade with the theme “Kumain ng wasto at maging aktibo…Push natin to!” Nutrition Month celebration aims to promote healthy diets and daily exercise to become active and contribute to the reduction of overweight, obesity and non-communicable diseases. It also teaches the public on how to better discern between healthy and unhealthy foods for better food choices; and encourage food industry including farmers, producers and distributors and food establishments to produce and make available healthier food options to consumers.According to an NNC report, unhealthy diet is one of the common shared risk factors to obesity and non-communicable diseases. Based on the latest data, the prevalence of overweight and obesity among adults 20 years old and above in Calabarzon is 32.4% which is higher than the national prevalence of 31.1%.Among our month long activities line-up are the following: Nutriquiz, Essay Writing, Poster Making, Cooking Contest, Parents Cooking Contest, Seminar to students about the importance of nutrition, Seminar to parents and Culminating Activity on July 30, 2019.The Program in the school was successful. New talents had been discovered. Evidently the real essence of good nutrition had been manifested in the actual performance and exercises of talents of students.
LIS Orientation
To be informed and to be aware about the platform of LIS known as Learner Information System the School LIS Coordinator Mr. Terence V. Reyes conducted a pre-orientation for the old and new advisers for the school year 2018-2019 of President Corazon C. Aquino High School. The orientation is divided in two session, so that there will be a proper information orientation among the adviser. The first batch is for the PM teachers started at 10:00 am of June 22, 2018 and the second batch is for the AM teachers administer at 1:00pm.
The orientation started with registration and filling up necessary information of new adviser for creating their account in Learner Information System Web Site, for enable them to access their own account in enrolling the learners.
The session started introducing the LIS to the advisers and how to log in the said website, and it was immediately followed by enrolling learners using the LRN, learner reference number or learner’s profile information, Mr. Reyes emphasize that there will be request process protocol for students doesn’t have LRN.
Mr. Reyes also enumerates the required school form or SF that ensure the data and information of each learners, he highlighted each form and how to produce the said form. Over all the said pre orientation for the LIS was successfully conducted. The coordinator was planning to follow-up the said orientation in third week of July 2018.
