On January 10, 2025 in the covered court of Corazon, President Corazon “Cory” C. Aquino National High School (PCCCANHS) solidified its reputation as a powerhouse in wrestling by claiming the overall championship in a thrilling competition against rival schools, Pasay East National High School and Pasay West National High School.
PCCCANHS started the event with a parade. Then, followed by prayer, National Anthem conducted by Mr. John Leonard S. Patriarca, the host of the program, Bagong Pilipinas, and lastly Mabuhay Pasay. Next, Mr. Terence V. Reyes the Assistant Principal of Corazon give a speech followed by the Principal of Corazon, Mr. Michael C. Artoza. After the speech the coaches demonstrate the perfect technique. The team showcased exceptional skill and strategy, starting strong in the first match with five pin-down victories and seven superiority wins. In the second match, they maintained their dominance, securing two more pin-downs and two superiority wins, leaving their opponents with little chance to catch up.
PCCCANHSβs success wasnβt limited to team achievements, as ten of their athletesβfive male and five femaleβqualified for the NCR tournament. Among the male qualifiers were RJ Pillora, Jansen Pillora, Reyniel Habongan, Francis Elpedes, and Ramil Gadayan, while the female qualifiers included Kristel Gilaga, Rizamae Andalani, Sandhie Sumayop, Aivie Dojinog, and Roseanne Suelila. Their qualification highlights the teamβs depth and balanced talent across both divisions.
